Recall:
Now it’s time for practicing collage work in your journal. We’ll take a break from what we did in parts 1-3 and start on a new page.
Gather some resources- images, pages from magazines, books etc. Scissors, glue, felts.
Open your journal page and lay it down beside you. Start cutting out and collecting images that you like. You can choose a theme if you want to, or just do a stream of consciousness.
Once you have a good collection, start gluing them on the page. I tend to overlay images. Then start writing words and add dots and lines and just fill fill fill the page (similar to the writing exercise in Part 1.)
Relax and enjoy! I find collaging adds a certain weight and “smooshiness” to the journal, bringing it to the next level.
