Saturday visual experimentation Part 2. Redo, Transform f. @SleuthTheBand

Recall:

Saturday visual experimentation Part 1

As mentioned in part 1, I’m experimenting with using a pre-existing book as a journal.  I’m using: Tales of the Batman by Tim Sale.

On this re-done, transformed page, I celebrate my son’s band, SLEUTH, as they prepare to leave for NEW YORK CITY to appear at POP FEST 2012!

Original page.
China marker, acrylic, glitter.

Some more alteration:

Saturday visual experimentation. Redo. Transform.

I love transformation.

Seemingly subtle changes can make a dramatic difference.

I’m experimenting with using a pre-existing book as a journal.  Just sitting with the page, then transforming it without pre-conceived notions, can be very liberating.

I’m currently using: Tales of the Batman by Tim Sale.  Today I just used china marker on the shiny paper.  As I continue I’ll use collage, ink, paint, whatever!

Art doesn’t transform. It just plain forms.
