JOSEPH (working title) is an experimental graphic novel series (in process). It is an Irish immigrant, Vancouver-based, family saga spanning 1924 – 1963. I use primary sources and creativity to build the true story. This is a work of creative nonfiction born out of historical research. I attempt to stick to the facts and avoid assumptions, yet draw conclusions and inspiration from circumstantial evidence. Visual scenes are created for the purposes of experimental storytelling. In the end, this is my artistic interpretation and nothing more than that. I am delighted to share that I will be publishing my completed graphic novel with Conundrum Press in 2025.

On this page, I am using the main character’s family clan knit pattern and imagining an aged hole-y sweater. Following the thread. Unraveling the story. The pattern will show up a few times in the book. Drawing knitting is a very comforting, meditative process. No need to be perfect. The realism is implied.
The unraveled areas illustrate the age of the story and my attempt to rethread.
