48 hours DRAWMATHON now ended!

This week, I launched a 48-hour portrait art sprint. For a donation of $5 CAD, I drew the donor’s image of choice as a 15+ min black & white portrait. Weird, humour, joy, quick!!! Gallery of results of the Drawmathon are posted on link: DRAWMATHON.

The Portraits above (no names, just faces) will be part of an anonymous street art project sometime in the Fall 2025 and may also become a zine!

The exploration for eventual “street art” project:

The other day, I had a walk to gather ideas of how to make the portraits gently interact with the local community and nature I walk in every day. The self-portrait here is wheatpasted onto large found magnolia leaf and embroidered. The finished embroidered portrait leaves will be placed somewhere in the West End in Vancouver as temporary surprise art before they deteriorate into autumn.

This past year – since July 2024 – has brought me to my knees. Nature is where I find the infusion needed to get up every day. To celebrate the highs and to honour the lows. Art is my life blood. And my community has been so supportive. So this project gently kind of celebrates all that. The leaves (be it a few or a batch) is a metaphor for my gratitude.
