Daily Journal Workshop:
Part 6 INVITE ALTER STRETCH EXTEND
—
Today we will make two postcards in our journal. I enlarged my two printouts to fit the page of my journals. You can handdraw as well.
Here’s a good template:
On one postcard write a secret [or many] about yourself. Something so secretive, you’d feel really uncomfortable sharing it with the world. Write it out. You don’t need to show it to anyone. It’s your choice.
Glue the written side down in your journal. The secret is there- but it’s simmering underneath.
Collage or draw on the page, covering your secret even more.
Draw on the image side of the other post card. Anything you like. Maybe your mask. Mine- I left blank for some reason. Hmmm.
Then on the message side, write a message to the world. Glue the drawing side (no matter how incredible the image) face down.
I have found that by being honest with my audience, I can start being honest with myself and also forgiving myself for imperfections. By acknowledging secrets I can ask for help.
